Greeting Cards

Description:
Students will explore different types of greeting cards and then design and write their own to build a class card collection, practicing empathy by thinking about how to acknowledge and respond to others' experiences through words and art.
Materials
• Variety of greeting cards (birthday, get well, anniversary, new baby, party invitations, sympathy)
• Drawing paper
• Art materials: pencils, markers, crayons, watercolor, tempera paint, alphabet stamps, stickers
• Old magazines and catalogs for cutting
• Child safety scissors
• Glue or glue sticks
• Access to a photocopy machine
