Description:

Students do a body self-audit, watch Amy Cuddy's TED Talk on body language, then role-play everyday scenarios in trios — acting out the same scene twice (once with disempowering posture, once with empowering posture) while a third student observes and gives feedback, rotating until each person has played every role.

Materials

  • Device, projector, and speakers to play the TED Talk "Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are" by Amy Cuddy (~21 min)

  • Scenario cards for role-play (3 scenarios, prepared in advance)

  • Cue cards with body posture variations: standing/sitting, arms crossed/open, legs straight/crossed, head up/down, eyes up/down

  • Open floor space for groups of three to act out scenes

  • A timer for the role-play rounds

  • Lesson plan
