Description:

Students watch Sir Ken Robinson’s TED Talk “Do Schools Kill Creativity?” and step into the role of Emotion Ambassadors — brainstorming, prioritizing, and electing peers to lead initiatives that bring creativity and emotional intelligence to the wider school community.

  • Build leadership skills by bringing emotional intelligence awareness to the larger school community.

  • Strengthen peer-to-peer relationships through an ambassador structure.

  • Grow a sense of school safety and shared ownership over the school atmosphere.

Materials

  • Brainstorming boards (whiteboard, chalkboard, or poster paper)

  • Markers or chalk

  • Screen / projector to show the TED Talk

  • Sticky notes or index cards for prioritizing

  • Email access (if appropriate, for following up on initiatives)

  • Lesson plan
