Emotion Ambassadors

Description:
Students watch Sir Ken Robinson’s TED Talk “Do Schools Kill Creativity?” and step into the role of Emotion Ambassadors — brainstorming, prioritizing, and electing peers to lead initiatives that bring creativity and emotional intelligence to the wider school community.
Build leadership skills by bringing emotional intelligence awareness to the larger school community.
Strengthen peer-to-peer relationships through an ambassador structure.
Grow a sense of school safety and shared ownership over the school atmosphere.
Materials
Brainstorming boards (whiteboard, chalkboard, or poster paper)
Markers or chalk
Screen / projector to show the TED Talk
Sticky notes or index cards for prioritizing
Email access (if appropriate, for following up on initiatives)
