Beanbag Freeze
SEL Domain(s): Self-control
Grades: K-5
*Lesson may need to be modified to meet the specific needs of students
Description:
Students play a movement game where they balance a beanbag on their head while music plays. When the music stops, they freeze. When a beanbag falls, a friend has to help by carefully placing it back—then they move together as partners. The game builds listening, body control, and cooperative care all at once.
Practice listening for cues (music on, music off).
Build body awareness, balance, and coordination.
Practice helping a friend—without dropping your own beanbag.
