Description:
In small groups, students use a limited set of materials to design and build a shelter that can protect a small doll from an incoming "meteor storm," then test their shelter's durability by having tennis balls thrown at it.
Materials
Three tennis balls.
A plastic baby doll or a large stuffed animal.
For each group, a paper bag containing:
Two large garbage bags
Ten pipe cleaners
Five pieces of paper
Twenty-five toothpicks
Three feet of string
One roll of painter’s tape
