Drawing Feelings

Description:

Students practice self-awareness by checking in with how they are feeling right now and using colors, shapes, and lines to draw it. Sharing is invitational, and the activity builds the language and confidence to name big feelings.

  • Build self-awareness by noticing and naming a current feeling.

  • Express feelings creatively through color, shape, and line — not just words.

  • Strengthen confidence by being seen and appreciated by peers.

Materials

  • Paper (one sheet per student)

  • Markers, crayons, or colored pencils with a wide range of colors

  • Optional: a simple feelings chart or word wall students can look at

  • Lesson plan
